Columbus Families:

During the 2022 -2023 school year, free lunch and breakfast was available to all students due to the Covid- 19 Pandemic. The USDA has decided that Breakfast and Lunch will resume being full price( Breakfast $1.45 and Lunch $2.55) for the 22 -23 school year. We appreciate your understanding as this is not a local decision, but a decision made by the USDA and Federal Government. Your student(S) may qualify for free or reduced price meals by filling out the 2022-2023 Iowa Application for Free & Reduced Price School Meals. If qualified, the reduced price is $.30 for breakfast and $.40 for lunch. Applications will be available starting July for the 2022-2023 school year. Information on full meal prices for the 2022-2023 school year will be available in the near future as well. Thank you for your time.

Bus Route Reduction Information

On Monday, March 21, 2022, we will be moving some of our bus stops to other routes to help absorb a route. Some goals we have with this are 1) to affect as few families as possible. 2) keep times as close as possible to what they were before. 3) help maintain our substitute driver pool.
Routes affected will be the alligator, dog, elephant, frog, and giraffe. Attached is a map of the changes, the five routes highlighted in differing colors, with the route's animal mascot, and estimated pick-up times noted.
We are planning to make contact with those families affected by the change. As with any bus stop time we give, these times are +/- five minutes. So, a ten-minute window for the bus to arrive. Road and weather conditions, mechanical issues, etc. can often alter our stop times. Please be patient with us as we implement these changes. If you have any questions, please contact your child's building office. Thank you.
